About Me
About the Artist
Richard is from Houston, Tx. He has always had a love for the arts and like many, he began as a self-taught artist. The Great Masters of art history always intrigued him, so he went on a search to learn the way artists were historically trained.
The Atelier (studio) method was the pattern of how artists became skilled in their craft. Its approach has its roots in the early renaissance. Students would train under a master for a period of time, before they set out on their own.
This search led him to study at the Grand Central Academy in New York, who held to a 19th century method of classical art training in the Fine Arts. He studied under artists Jacob Collins, Dan Thompson, Michael Grimaldi, Kate Lehman, and Stephen Perkins.
He lives with his wife Claudia and their four children in Houston, TX.
